Check out this week's installment of Waiver Wired for some surprising pick up suggestions.

 Luke Schenn-D-Maple LeafsJan. 6 - 12:52 pm et
Luke Schenn will return to the lineup Tuesday night.
Schenn has been sidelined since December 6 with a knee injury. Although he is a great defensive prospect, with zero goals and only two assists in 27 games, he is not a great fantasy player.

 Paul Ranger-D-LightningJan. 6 - 12:48 pm et
Paul Ranger is expected to return to the lineup Thursday.
The defenseman has been sidelined since November 30 with an upper body injury. Feel free to activate him if you would normally do so.

 Steve Stamkos-C-LightningJan. 6 - 12:44 pm et
Steven Stamkos has only three points in the past 15 games.
He hasn't played 15 minutes in a game in the past 11 matches. After projections of rookie success similar to that of Patrick Kane last year - who collected 72 points as a rookie - Stamkos is on the slow-motion development track. With only four goals and 14 points in 39 games, he should only be on a fantasy roster in keeper leagues.

 Gary Roberts-W-LightningJan. 6 - 12:40 pm et
Gary Roberts is still a few weeks away from returning to the lineup.
The veteran has been sidelined since late November with an elbow injury. He hopes to come back and finish the season, and his career, on a high and healthy note. With his propensity for injury, we're not sure that's possible. We wish him the best though. Just don't keep him on your fantasy squad.

 Alex Goligoski-D-PenguinsJan. 6 - 12:33 pm et
Alex Goligoski and Hal Gill were healthy scratches Monday.
Coach Michel Therrien is desperately trying to fix his ailing squad. Mark Eaton and Philippe Boucher played in their spots. This is likely a wake up call for Goligoski who leads Pittsburgh defenders in scoring with 18 points. The other three are interchangeable.

 Miroslav Satan-W-PenguinsJan. 6 - 12:29 pm et
The Penguins have demoted Miroslav Satan to the fourth line.
With Pittsburgh struggling of late, coach Michel Therrien shook up his lines in an effort to kick-start his team. It didn't work against the Rangers. Satan will likely remain on the fourth line until his work ethic improves, Therrien said. For now, Tyler Kennedy and Pascal Dupuis will flank Sidney Crosby.

 Simon Gagne-W-FlyersJan. 6 - 12:27 pm et
Simon Gagne will decide on whether he plays with Tuesday after the pre-game skate.
Gagne has been sidelined since December 30 with a shoulder strain. Get ready to activate him.
