Part two of the Arizona Fall League wrapup includes features on Phil Hughes, Max Scherzer, Matt Wieters and many more.

 Nick Swisher-OF-YankeesJan. 6 - 2:16 pm et
Both Nick Swisher and Xavier Nady are drawing significant interest in trade talks, according to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal.
Neither figures to bring a whole lot in return with guys like Garret Anderson, Ken Griffey Jr. and Jim Edmonds still out there as one-year possibilies. Still, the relative youth of Swisher and Nady could make them more attractive to some teams. It doesn't appear that the Yankees are prepared to keep both and play either Johnny Damon or Swisher in center field.

 Orlando Cabrera-SS-White SoxJan. 6 - 2:12 pm et
With the market for his services still quiet, free agent Orlando Cabrera is reportedly telling teams he's open to moving to second base.
Cabrera's agent tried to get the Yankees interested in him as a second baseman, but that didn't work. Orlando Hudson isn't having much luck either, so we're not sure Cabrera advertising himself as a second baseman will do him any good. Once his price comes down far enough, there could be a half-dozen teams that realize he'd be worth pursuing as a shortstop.

 Brian Roberts-2B-OriolesJan. 6 - 2:05 pm et
The Orioles want Gavin Floyd and more from the White Sox in return for Brian Roberts, according to SI.com's Jon Heyman.
It's not clear that Floyd was even on the table in the first place. Talks have stalled for now, Heyman says. GM Ken Williams told the Chicago media that he hasn't even spoken with the Orioles since November. However, most don't seem to believe him.

 Derek Lowe-S-DodgersJan. 6 - 2:02 pm et
Brewers GM Doug Melvin said he's "not in on" free agent Derek Lowe.
The Brewers could really use him, but they don't want to spend that much money to fill one hole and they know Lowe would prefer to pitch on the East Coast anyway. The Brewers are one of the teams interested in Braden Looper.

 Chad Cordero-R-NationalsJan. 6 - 1:55 pm et
The Diamondbacks are planning on watching free agent Chad Cordero throw this week.
The Mets, Rangers, Tigers, Cardinals and Angels have all been connected to Cordero, though in the Mets' case, that was before the Francisco Rodriguez and J.J. Putz additions. Cordero isn't likely to reemerge as a closing candidate at any point in 2009, but it's still likely that he'll want to go to a team with an uncertain situation in the ninth.

 Carl Pavano-S-YankeesJan. 6 - 1:41 pm et
The Indians are showing interest in free agent Carl Pavano, according to ESPN.com.
It looked like things were heating up with Pavano at the winter meetings, but no one from a group that included the Jays, Marlins and Red Sox made much of a bid after expressing interest in him. Cleveland makes sense as a destination, though the team could use someone more reliable. If he's signed, he'd have an edge over Scott Lewis, Aaron Laffey, Jeremy Sowers and Zach Jackson in the competition for two rotation spots.

 Mark Teixeira-1B-YankeesJan. 6 - 1:37 pm et
Yankees signed first baseman Mark Teixeira, who had been with the Angels, to an eight-year, $180 million contract.
The Yankees' announcement of the Dec. 23rd deal comes one day after Teixeira passed his physical. It gives the Bombers the game's four largest contracts, and all signs point to the Teixeira, CC Sabathia and A.J. Burnett deals being the biggest contracts of this winter. Like the other two, Teixeira was given a complete no-trade clause as part of the contract.
